MEET THE TRAINER
Adam Hazelwood
Adam Hazelwood grew up working on a horse farm in Westfield, Indiana. There he discovered his passion for animals where he began learning how to train and communicate effectively with horses. Working with these animals just fueled his passion with learning how-to appropriately communicate with animals in order to achieve a desired task out of them. Growing up, Adam enjoyed playing baseball and participating in youth equine activities that included showing and training hunter jumpers, Standardbreds and trail riding horses. Adam received multiple awards while involved with horses, including several Grand Champion places. Adam lives in New Palestine, Indiana with his wife and children where their children are actively involved in equine activities and other school related activities!
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Multi-Jurisdiction Chief K9 Trainer
Currently Adam is a supervisor, canine handler, and the chief canine trainer for a local police department on the east side of Indianapolis, IN.
As part of his duties as the supervisor and canine trainer, Adam is responsible for the job performance and certifications for all of the canines on his department as well as overseeing the training, job performance and certifications for multiple other law enforcement agencies and metropolitan school districts throughout the central Indiana area. Adam has experience in training police canines and handlers from all over the United States in detection, tracking, apprehension, handler protection, obedience, and many other areas as it relates to law enforcement canine procedures.
Adam understands the importance of having a dog that is well behaved. He believes in a training philosophy that is a well balanced program between a dog that is playful and likes to have fun, while at the same time a dog that exhibits good manners. He believes that your dog’s training should be consistent with your family’s lifestyle in order for the both of you to be properly set up for a successful relationship!

All Board & Train dogs will be staying at Adam’s home socializing with children, adults and other animals. This program is designed for dogs who would benefit from direct training with Adam where they will become familiar with multiple distractions while being able to successfully focus on the training and task that is asked of them! This is an excellent option for busy families who do not have the time to put in the foundational training required for your furry family member to be an obedient, well-behaved, socialized dog that you can trust, inside of your home and out in public!
WORKING DOGS
Police K9 Training
We provide single and dual purpose police K9's. We train and certify in Patrol, Tracking, Obedience, Article Searches, and Detection.
New Pal Canine specializes in the selection, training and certification of Facility Therapy Dogs.
We also offer handler schools as well!
